Schankwirtschaft Schanzenbräu – Sommertime is Beergardentime
Perfect for: Schäufele & beer
Summertime is beergarden time and the Schankwirtschaft Schanzenbräu is one of the oldest and most iconic breweries in town – and obviously in the favorite GoHo, where they brew on of the best beers in the region.
The homebrew beer is simply invincible, a prime example for the Franconian art of brewing and naturally super fresh – because they brew it there. If you, anyhow decided to not go for a Schanzenbräu (aka Franconian philistine) they also have nice Belgian beers on the menu.
For food they serve pleasantly unagitated “Brotzeit” and Franconian Specialties, and there is always at least one option for vegetarians. The portions are tasty, massive and good value.
The restaurant inside is really rustic and old fashioned – not in a hipster way but in an authentic way. And of course still cozy. The bicycle framed beer garden is small, shady and homely. When the sun sets down, granny styled lampshades take care of the right hipster flair…at least.
